Regulation Reset: Learning How To Regulate When Stressed

Welcome back, or welcome if you are new here! We are in the Integration Lab portion of NeuroHumanity’s framework for making sustainable, lasting change. That means we get to take a small chunk out of our week to put the brainstormed thoughts into practice. It always starts with our Lead Brain Coach and LMHC, Jenn Evans, explaining the weekly topic in a video format - and continues this theme throughout the week. This means you can pick and choose what resonates with you and sprinkle it into your day, week, month, or year. All of it! We create paths to change that lead to a better understanding of you as an individual, so you can be your inner CEO, and do good for the community and people around you.

This month, we’re continuing to dive even deeper into what in means to be the CEO of our own life. This is also a great toolkit to have as the CEO of a company, a manager of a team, or really anyone that interacts with the world around them - we can’t help it, we’re social creatures.

We’re also pairing this with the importance of regulation of our emotions, which helps us handle day to day life stressors. In the hustle of life, we can take our downtime for granted. I find that my personal muscle memory in moments of stillness is to read for my phone. Having tools and other options that are more helpful for building regulation can bring that feeling of a deep breath during the day.

In this video, we’re breaking down:

  • Regulation rituals we already have

  • Reflections on how our bodies feel when we start to feel stress coming on

  • Brainstorming for regulation activities that we’d like to try
